Jodi Stiles
Deputy Director, Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS)
Jodi Stiles is the Deputy Director of the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS) responsible for leading the Center’s strategic commitment to servicing the homeland security educational priorities of the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security and Defense, as well as local, state, tribal and federal agencies. Prior to her current role as Deputy, Jodi served as the Interim Director from 2023-2024.
Before accepting her temporary position at the helm, Jodi served as CHDS' Chief Information Officer from 2011-2023. In this role, she was responsible for technology, information management, and digital content across the Center's many websites, learning systems, and research tools. She has over 20 years of experience in the design, scripting, and development of advanced learning systems. She oversees the Homeland Security Digital Library project and is responsible for content management and organization across the Center. Jodi works closely with faculty, students, and university administration, and she is responsible for information assurance and security of program data.
Previously, Jodi managed distance learning programs at Virginia Tech, co-founded a digital start-up, and taught numerous courses and seminars on educational technologies and data privacy. Jodi has won teaching awards from both the Naval Postgraduate School and Virginia Tech.
Jodi has a Master of Science degree from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University.
