Chris Kuhn

Deputy Chief Patrol Agent, U.S. Border Patrol

Deputy Chief Patrol Agent (DCPA) Christopher “Chris” Kuhn has served as a federal agent and metropolitan police officer for more than 21 years, accumulating broad law enforcement experience across southern, northern, coastal, and Arctic border environments. In August 2023, he was promoted to Deputy Chief Patrol Agent of the Blaine Sector (BLW), where he oversees all U.S. Border Patrol operational, programmatic, and administrative functions. His responsibilities include four Border Patrol stations, targeting and intelligence operations, and mission readiness.

In addition to his sector responsibilities, DCPA Kuhn has served as a CBP/USBP representative on Department of Homeland Security Arctic initiatives and Northern Border 2024 strategy updates, including participation in U.S.–Canada Arctic dialogue engagements in Ottawa.
Previously, in 2025, DCPA Kuhn served as the Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the Houlton Sector, overseeing all Border Patrol law enforcement operations across more than 32,000 square miles, including extensive land, riverine, lake, and coastal borders.

DCPA Kuhn entered federal service in 2006 and was initially assigned to the San Diego Sector. In 2008, he completed Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) selection course 25 and served with the San Diego Sector Special Operations Detachment and later at Special Operations Group Headquarters in El Paso, Texas, supporting national and international level missions and initiatives. In 2015-2017, he served at Border Patrol HQ in Washington D.C.

DCPA Kuhn is currently enrolled in the Center for Homeland Security and Defense master’s program at the Naval Postgraduate School and previously served with the Honolulu Police Department.
