Emily Martuscello is the Director of Emergency Management for the City of Nashua, New Hampshire, where she spearheads the city’s efforts to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters. In this pivotal role, Emily leads a team dedicated to developing and implementing strategic crisis response plans, enhancing community resilience, and ensuring comprehensive disaster preparedness. Her commitment to fostering a culture of safety and preparedness within the community underscores her leadership in the field of emergency management.

Before assuming her current position, Emily built a distinguished career that spans various facets of emergency management and public safety. She began her journey in Nashua, NH, focusing on citizen preparedness and community outreach, earning recognition as IAEM’s 2017 Emergency Management Volunteer of the Year for her contributions. Her career trajectory took her to the State of New Hampshire Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, where she managed the Emergency Management Performance Grant program, significantly enhancing statewide emergency preparedness. Emily’s expertise and leadership were further recognized at the federal level during her tenure with FEMA Region I as the Continuous Improvement Advisor. There, she was instrumental in establishing a comprehensive continuous improvement program and pioneering the Crowdsourcing Unit, which provided enhanced situational awareness to support decisionmaking during disasters.

Emily’s academic background is as impressive as her professional achievements. She graduated from George Washington University with a degree in Political Communications and Emergency Health Services. She furthered her education by completing a Master of Science in Executive Leadership from Champlain College. This solid educational foundation has equipped her with the knowledge and skills to excel in the demanding field of emergency management.
